A little background on this. On December 3rd, 2006 I helped my mom and dad order an iPod Nano for my sister. We used Pricegrabber.com to find the best value and ended up going with a refurbished Model I from Buy.com. Buy.com was talked about everyone on the Internet at the time for it’s partnership with Google and $20 off on purchases over $50. Getting that much on an already discounted iPod seem exactly what my parents were looking for. We bought and have been waiting ever since.
A week prior to Christmas my mom received an email stating that Jennifer’s iPod would ship on December 26th, 2006. When we went back to the Buy.com website after the holiday, not only did the iPod not ship – but it was still on hold status.
I’ve sent many emails to Buy.com and have received standard copy/paste tech support back. I’m hoping the Digg community can help out a fellow Digger by bringing this atrocity to the forefront.
Our most recent email to Buy.com:
Hello Buy.com Customer Support,
We are still waiting for my Daughter Christmas present iPod Nano. At this rate I could’ve purchased a refurbished directly from the Apple Store online and have received the product. Have you guys considered doing the same thing in order to fulfill my order?
Please let me know how much longer my daughter will have to wait in order to enjoy her gift. She’s very anxious to put her music collection on the new non-existent iPod Nano that still isn’t here.
Any help is appreciated, or at least acknowledgment that you are not helping. Whichever.
